Hey Ben,

awesome write up, thanks heaps! Just did mine today with Red LEDs, looks awesome! only thing is, my dimmer switch doesn't seem to be working. Any idea why? I don't really mind since I like it on max brightness, but was just interested to know.

I'm not ben, but this might be why it doesn't work. Voltage, The dimmer, reduces the voltage that goes through the lights, which will cause it go dimmer. Depending on the LED's you may be able to get some or maybe not at all, adjustment, as LEDS have a lesser range of voltage required. . This i realized with my 9 LED bulb in my integra. That or you forgot to plug it in

Does the dimmer make everything else dim? My dimmer does dim my gauges.

no it doesn't dim the climate either, but i think it never did on my car, even when it used to dim my gauge cluster.

I didn't say you get ticketed for them, but for some reason they draw more attention from cops than blue hid's. I got pulled over a couple of times in my old 2003 camry with those on. The cops always said that they noticed the license plate lights looked unusual. They would run the typical white paper test to see if it was blue, which is an illegal color of lighting on non-emergency vehicles. It would always come out white, and they would let me go. The fifth time I was pulled over was on the PA turnpike. The officer did the white paper test on the license plate lights first, lights came out white like always. Then he tested out my hid's (had projectors and 6000K bulbs in at the time) using the same method, again not blue. Then he told me to flash the high beams, BAM NON MOVING VIOLATION! In my experience it wasn't worth the $110 fine I got for lights I never see. Yeah I got the ticket because I didn't have high beams, but I never would have gotten pulled over if it wasn't for those cool white led license plate lights.

already checked there, they got nothing
I did this just recently if you look inside the socket for a yellow housing on the twist socket was formerly a super-bright yellow led after being gutted (wasn't that good anyway). Not that i would be removing it but i'd hate to hard wire the power source on the back of the green membrane

Anyone else have a problem with these burning out after a period of 3-4 months? Mine started flashing and now only the 2nd one from the right works.

I'll eventually take it apart and make sure the connections are solid. Oh, and every now and then a light or two might turn on and flicker for a while.
