this is pretty common it has happened to me with my $5 led bulb T_T in my integra and the flickering has occurred to several other members on this board, over a couple of months to a year or 2. I'm not sure exactly what the issue is though, but I have a few ideas.
You bought the bulbs off ebay, which are super cheap and low quality.
or like you mentioned might be the connection, I think a few car shops (autozone, O Reilly's) sell electric conducting gel (is that what it's called?) Which might help make a better connection.
or the LED bulb is over powered.
I remember reading somewhere the dimmer switch actually sends 14V to those bulbs, if this is the case then you're overpowering the 12v LEDs and shortening its life.
I don't have a volt meter so I'm not certain that is the case someone should test the Voltage output from the oem sockets.
From my own experience, When my LED started to flicker, I had lowered the Dimmer, which made it stop flickering and gave me a few months before it just died. That's why I'm considering voltage to be a factor.
You can always opt to normal bulbs, less headache and lots cheaper. $3.84 for a set of 4. Using 192 5w bulbs Toyota Part. stock OEM mr2 bulbs were 158 3.4w bulbs
