Question Really confusing problem...

my sound system consists of an Alpine 9835 head unit, Kicker speakers in my doors, Focal speakers in my side panels and 2 stock subwoofers in the compartment areas.

ok, a couple days ago, my sound system was working loud, clear and perfectly fine. it was working fine ever since i installed it back in 2005.

i start the car next day and the sound was just fine. then all of a sudden i hear slight static/fuzz on the left speakers. the static went away, but a few minutes later the whole entire left side just went silent. a few hours later, the sound comes back...then when i started the car again...the left side was back to silence.

the 3 right side speakers all work fine, but the 3 speakers on the left went quiet.

i checked my wiring and its all intact. what the hell is going on with my sound???

Whats the amp set up ? To me it sounds like a loose connection on the signal cable , left side. Or the volume control ( pot ) on the head has dust if it has one. Not sure if it is a pot or digital behind the knob. Without turning the system on rotate the knob up and down a few times. See if that fixes it

thanks but i managed to fix it already. it had completely nothing to do with what's behind my head unit. i took out my headunit and its such a pain trying to fit everything back in...that took up most of my day!

alpine units usually have a metal rectangle box hanging off the back and a plastic fuse box hanging off it too. now you add a JDM cupholder along with it, you need to make sure those boxes slide somewhere perfectly....i am never taking my head unit out again! LOL

the problem was that my left door speaker had slightly rusty connectors. i took it off, cleaned it, retaped everything tightly and covered up the connectors with extra tight electrical tape...now everything is back to loud and normal.

i just dont know why that if the door speakers goes, the stock sub and side panel speaker go too? are they all connected as one?
