running wire for frunk amp

I am installing an amp that mounts to the top of the spare. power and ground are obviously easy enough, but where is the best entrance to the cab? i need a good rout to the head unit for rca and remote cable and then speaker wire down the center console. Im trying a home brew setup between and behind the seats. any recomendations or advise would be greatly apprciated

I wound up finding a good entrance just above the positve side of the battery. cut the rubber and siliconed it back together, worked very well. thanks for the insight.

Have any of you actually been successful at mounting an amp in the frunk without getting noise from the servo motor? I have my passenger door speakers and sub going through the hole above the pos lead on the battery, and my rca's and drivers door speaker wires going through above the servo motor, I have ran the cables as far as possible away from the servo, but still no matter what, I get a high pitch buzz when you turn the steering wheel. It's just like alternator whine but it changes by steering not rpm's. I am about to rip my hair out then go spend another $100 on wires and trash hours of work making a dope board to mount my amp and xovers in the frunk, then mount the **** in my car. Please someone let me know what I'm doing wrong. 5039136192 my car is in pieces and needs to be put together hopefully fixed so I can drive.

Is the steering grimmer the hope with the rubber plug about three inches up and a little to the right of the servo motor? If so I already have it going through there. I used that hole after looking at stephenmasons tutorial. Anyways I just spent $50 on a RCA cable and thought we had a route that minimized the noise but after moving it around a little bit to get the tire, the plastic and my board with the amp on it in there and now the noise is back. I mean if a song is playing and I'm driving it's not bad, but quite parts of songs you can hear it while turning. Am I just being picky or should I learn to live with the noise after spending $1,400 on a stereo system? I would like to know more about the steering column, anychance of some photos?

you way over paid, lol.

anyways...

this is how I mounted mine:

if I get bored, i'll go take a picture of how it's all fed through the firewall. but I have hardly any whine at all. like, as long as it's over 1-2 on my headunit and outputting SOMETHING then I can't hear it.

i would of just put the amp in the back away from everything.

make your own box and place the amp in. run the wires on the outside wall of our car.

and then cover it up or cut out the hole for ppl to see the amp.

half cover

the cover have like little small holes all over for the heat to rise out. plus a small fans on both amp.

Can I get some more info about how you ran your cables? Like where in the cab do you start your cables and where in the trunk do the come out, as well as how you got them from point a to point b. This might be another option other than mounting it behind the passenger seat under my sub in the storage compartment. Also did you run cables down both sides of the car so you could keep your power wire for the amp away from any other wires?

I will try and post up a couple pics of my setup when I get off work.

i didn't really take photo of where i ran the wires. but, i ran the wires on both side of the firewall. if you take off the panel off on both side where the seat belt goes. there should be a big enough hole for you to pull your wire there.

on the driver side. i put my power cable there for the amp. and on the other side. i had my wires for speaker and sub wire there.

to get the wires to pass from one end to other. i use a hanger. tape up all the wire you want to pass on in and tape it to the hanger and pull. have one person pull on the end and one person pushing the wire at the same time.

hope this help. sorry, i'm not very good with words.

this was the only pic i have of where the wire was going.

and you are still able to put stuff in the back trunk. make sure you don't run your power cable from battery on the driver side. there is a small hole next to the battery on the firewall. run your cable there. again. use a hanger to put the cable pass that small holes. this one is alot harder to get pass in. but, trust me...your music will sound alot better.

the back is just a trunk, the front is a frunk because it's a front trunk.
