stereo "cage" missing

hey guys

I bought my MR2 from Japan, and it came with a deck on board that wont read north american radio stations. Its a mess- duct-taped to the DIN pocket underneath and left in there loose. So I need to get a new stereo deck- but i found problem.

The 'cage' i think its called.. that the deck and pocket get attached to, isn't there. The new deck will presumably come with those brackets you screw into the side, though the piece between the brackets and the car itself is missing. I hope i have explained that properly, though I'm no car audio expert. Anyone know if this is a standard part i could get replaced, or order easily from somewhere??

The Japanese radio runs on a lower frequency than North American stations run, so that's why its not working for you in Canada.

New stereos do not come with the brackets that bolt to either side of the headunit and mount into the MR2 dash, you'll have to find some out of a wrecked MR2, or buy them for the dealer.

Hey, so a toyota specific part eh... ie it's not something that will fit in that slot from any other rig? Maybe the car audio store can help me out...the dealership here is pretty useless sometimes... this is going to be a bitch!

most imports use the same brackets. go to a junk yard and check some other toyota's , i know my old T-100 was the same as my MR2.
