I completed my color changing prototypes! I just need to work on shrinking the circuit for it so it won't be the size of a shoe box. I should have these ready to go in about 1 or 2 weeks!

The first versions were 1 color only and painted. The 2nd version was powdercoated. The 3rd version now is one color and switches to red when you step on the brakes and is still powdercoated.

I finished making the initial color changing module. The module is about the size of a credit card and 2 inches thick, so it is nice and compact and can be mounted/hidden almost anywhere in the trunk. I just need to order some other parts to make the installation a whole lot easier.

This new version allows you to choose between having the color act as a brake light or a reverse light.

So does this mean you can feed your reverse light wire to it and it kick over automatically when you go into reverse? and it brighten up when you hit the brakes?

Yes, if you wire for reverse lights, the plate will turn white when in reverse. It will turn red when you hit the brakes, but will be off other than that.
