Is this a safe setup for a AW11
When it comes to car audio all I know how to do is wire in peripherals. As far as knowing if the setup is right I dont know, and is why I have never installed a sub or amp in any of my cars. But Im up to the task, I just need to know if this is a safe setup.
I know the MR2 is a tiny car and one reason why Im choosing a fairly simple and small system. The headunit model isnt the one I have but very close, all I know is its a 50x4 MOSFET. Aswell as the amplifier I have a 600x4 Pioneer and Ill match the specs as good as possible. I say this because Im not at my house and cant get the specs off the actual boxes. Headunit: Pioneer DEH-1100MP(22x4 RMS) Front Speakers: TS-D402P 4" (25W RMS) Amplifier: Pioneer GM-6400F(60x4-4ohm, 75x4-2ohm, 150x2-4ohm Bridged)(10Hz ~ 50kHz) Subwoofer: Pioneer TS-SW841D 8" (120W RMS 4ohm)(30 ~ 1,500Hz)(85dB Responce) Enclosure: Pioneer UD-SW8U Shallow Mount, or custom sealed enclosure to specs Im trying to prep for my finacial aid check. As far as music I listen to: Classic Rock, Lots of Electronic Dance Music(ranging from house, and hardcore), and Rap when Im bored and nothing else sounds good. I hope this tells you enough to help me out. I want to be well prepared before I go and talk to the local audio shop and purchase everything I need. Last edited by XJoshua; 01-13-2009 at 03:53 AM.. |

What kind of budget do you have for the sound system? Keeping things simple with fronts/amp/sub is a good idea to keep cost and install time down, but having worked with high end audio for years, I've learned that there are sometimes higher end options that most people didn't think they could afford. I will say right now though, for shallow mount subs, the Kenwood Excelon has been really impressing me for one of the "run of the mill" brands. I wish I had personal experience with that Pioneer to give advice on it, but I will say their drop in coaxials(especially as small as a 4") are less than impressive.
