no specs.. the boxes are cut well but the mdf has been shaved off the corners and edges so they fit in those little metal compartments these photos are not accurate as the box is sitting up about 2 inches normally it about flush with the metal frame then there are custom carpet covered lids as well. and then the stock speaker grills go on the front and it looks totally invisible when installed, but I dont use them anymore I'd rather have the locking storage box. I think they sound horrible, just this flat bass..a fuzzy thud behind the seat, I'd rather have a properly tuned system than these things. Last edited by jakobe; 02-07-2009 at 10:36 AM.. |

I dont need big bass, just decent sound but I need as much of the storage as possible
maybe some curved 1/4 moon shape structural foam frames covered in black carpet to match the firewall with these in the center. will just look like a black bump behind the seat on the firewall only a few inches tall no need for extra amps or anything, so I can have my frunk back. LANZAR VCTBS8 8'' Super Slim Active dj sub Subwoofer - eBay (item 270338538624 end time Mar-03-09 11:10:32 PST) here is a very crude sketch of this idea ![]() |

maybe its not great for competition or to be the loudest guy in the school parking lot, but it'll prolly do for my needs.
I dont push the stereo, I'm not that guy at the stop light with a rattlin license plate. |

Here's my set up.
![]() I have them 2 kicker 6by9's, infinity 6 1/2''s in the doors and a 5 1/4'' tang band factory sub replacement behind the driver. The passenger side is the little plastic compartment. I mainly listen to rock and I do like it fairly loud but I don't really care for anyone outside of the car hearing it. This set up is pretty much dead on for me. It can do rap but it is a 5 1/4'' sub so don't expect the rear view mirror to fall off from bass or anything. To me it just has a nice clean loud enough bass. You can turn it up very very high and its still perfectly clear, the mids and highs are crazy loud too. If you where located anywhere near me I'd be glad to let you come hear it in person. Also, honestly I never use that compartment though, its to small for pretty much anything. I have a flashlight and phone charger in it and that takes up most of the room. I'd rather take it out and get the box for the passenger side so I could have 2 factory subs. Lol |

Here is what I did with an 8" cvt (thin mount) The box doesn't have quite enough air space though. Check it out
91 NA (for now) sound - killermillermr2’s Photo Gallery As for sound I like it. With proper box volume it would sound even better. Hits harder the more you roll down the windows or take the tops off ![]() |

^thats definitely different, never seen a set up like that. You get the highs and mids like my set up but way more bass. Kinda reminds me how some of them exotic cars, can't remember exactly what one I've seen it on but I know I've see a center concol mounted sub somewhere. That would be pretty sweet if you made a fiberglass box for it or something.

I got the idea from a Dodge Viper. They have subs between the seats like that. I was going for the look of the CD storage console like the turbo modles have, but with a speaker instead.
I would like to redo the box to get more air space and a better look. Mine was just a project to take up time and learn. |
