How do these things come off?
I'm trying to clean up the interior in my newly acquired 2nd gen and can't seem to be able to remove the gas and rear hatch plastic levers, as well as the plastic lever that adjusts the seat back. Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated.
Also wondering if there were many 2nd gen turbo cars made w/o a sunroof or moonroof in them. Just curious. Thanks! Bill |

For the gas and rear, I believe their is a cover that you pop off and then their is a screw.

For the seat there is a clip that holds the lever onto the seat (similar to a manual window crank). Usually you can a generic interior trim tool available at any auto parts store or use a cloth (pillowcase) that is folded in half and just rock it back and forth.
As for the levers you can remove the cover itself from the floor. Once you pull the cover and levers off the floor you should be able to disconnect them. If you get stuck take a pic. I am sure we can guide you. Goodluck. |

DSCN2007.JPG Right above my finger is a plastic screw that any flat blade screw driver can be used to get it loose & off. The area labeled "metal" has a metal screw in there with a phillips head. Remove this screw & the plastic cover pops off no problem. Then you will see the 10mm bolts that hold the latches in place. Quote:
