Speakers not working
i went and got the deck back from the seller of my car and looked into putting it in. i am new to car audio but it shouldn't be hard to wire the harness. i did it while i was on watch(your tax dollars hard at work) and everything looks great. i went to plug it in and the kenwood kdc-mp232 lit right up, popped a cd in and checked volume and nothing came out. well after looking at the harness and then over at the speaker, the guy must have been trying to rewire the front speakers because there is lose speaker wire around. well i can't seem to fine where to connect it to the wires that come from the frunk.
that being said, even so, wouldn't the rear speakers atleast make da noise? any advice on running new speaker wire? i have a mk1. thanks |

I have a MK2 so I dont know if its the same for the Mk1 but the wiring for the rear speakers runs underneath the carpet next to the trim on the door sill. I dont know about the fronts.
If I were you I would pull out the HU and trace the speaker wires then just run new wire to all of the speakers. If you have an amp to the frunk, check that its getting signal, check that its on and check that its producing a signal, just grab a speaker you know it works and ghetto hook it up. then just trace your wires, if they go through tight spaces you can just undo the speakers, take them out a little and give a lil tug on the speaker wire/ see what colour it is so you can trace it. |

well i looked at it today and it looks like this guy cut the wire between the speaker and where it goes into the frunk. its gonna be hell to get down in there but i need speakers. i think now would be a good time to replace the speakers since i'll have it apart anyway. any advice on what speakers to purchase?
1stgen, what part of cali you from? what city? |
