You what I'm going to give it a try, if I could build a computer, I should be able to do this, BTW did you needed a installation kit for yours? the sales guy only gave me a wire harness, I was also told some cars does not need a installation kit for a double din , and thanks for the link.

![]() you're welcome. you should not need a installation kit, I was just assuming you might need the brackets that the double din screws onto. and maybe a face plate to make the HU look flush with the cover. here's how I do it: * take off the shift surround. (it's easy with your hands, can do it with a screwdriver wrapped in electrical tape.) * remove the ash box (just pull straight up on it, take out the 2 screws below the climate control) * take one screw out just below the ignition/cigarette and pop that section down about a centimeter or so, just make it disconnect. * there are six clips, just pull straight out on the whole Assembly. (you will need to disconnect the hazard lights and also the cigarette lighter from it so you can get a clear shot to everything. my air vents come out too whit this step, so don't freak out like I did.) * then there are 4 screws around the Head-unit, take those out then slide the old one out, disconnect the harness, and take off you're bracket, add it to the new HU plug up you're harness, and wire it up. make sure you get a good ground so you don't get any static! then put everything back together in reverse order. hope that works out for you and is as clear as possible! -H |

Sounds like its broken to me or there is dust on the lense inside of the unit. Go buy a lense cleaner CD thingy and try that, if not...can you take it back?
