Infinity vs. Rockford Fosgate
Can anyone give me some opinions on this? In the midst of getting a decent amp and set of subs in the car. I've trekked around within a 300 mile radius of the area looking for different sound installers to get a taste of the different systems.
So far I like the sound of Infinity and Rockford Fosgate. Can anyone tell me how well these fair in a small car like the MR2? |

It really doesn't matter, if your geting the low end stuff of the name brand. Both Infinity and Rockford are great names in the audio world. Either way they both are good.
I hope your not hearing the big 12" in a vented enclousre. that box may not fit in our cars. really all the need to rattle your mirrors is about 200 watts. |

I was just going to get Sony Xplodes, can't go wrong with a $100 setup right? Right? I somehow get a friend correcting my innocence on subs. ![]() |

Wrong, go with a GOOD single 10" sub and it will put out more bass, more volume and cleaner sound than the Sony xCrap.

true, and the Dayton subs are really good just, its pricy.
that amp will more that enough. Now remember the subwoofer box is key, it can make a $1k system sound like $30 yard sale plywood made box. and I love your avatar. cool. |

If i got a dollar for everytime ive answered this magical question i would be a millionare.
UNLESS YOU HEAR ANOTHER MR2 you cannot do any serious gauging at all . The car is very small and YES there is a lot of science and physics involved. I have always asked first WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE ? Low Bass Loud Bass Overpowering Bass SPL or sound quality Bass extention or mono tone What about the rest of the music spectrum > 95% What is your budget Wiring Electrical juice etc etc. If you wish to ignore these fundamental questions , well its an easy answer, either sub because i KNOW it wont sound the same as when you heard them in a shop or another car. IMO put a 6 incjh in both cubby holes that Toyota has as oem. Get a speaker with massive x-max and a very big amp. Cover the speakers with an AP mat ( speaker works , Orange county ) and you should be happy |
