Thats a clean set up, I like it.
My amp chills out on top of that bar that you have attached your bracket to.

i have a ten inch bazooka tube and it hits very nicely i think mostly because it hits to the side instead of directly into the back of your seat, i think it sounds perfect in my car

Just finished up my sub install today... still need to vacuum the car. Tomorrow I will build an amp rack that matches to go behind the driver seat.

Is that enclosure extending down into the storage area? If not, I think you're going to be suffocating that sub with that little air space.

Sounds really good! I highly recommend this sub!!! It's capable of surprisingly deep bass for a 10.

It is built down into the area that I removed the stock sub from. I actually added a lip to the front of the box so that it would flow and be flush. The box is sealed with .45 cubic ft of airspace... I built it for a Pioneer shallow sub, but the place I ordered it from was out of stock, so I did a little digging and found the Elemental Designs SQ10S2. The recommended airspace for a sealed enclosure for this sub was .3 cubic ft with an acceptable range of .25 - .5 cubic ft. I was thinking about making a ported enclosure, but the box is so slim there wasn't a good place for the port tube.

is a capacitor necessary for a system in an mr2? im thinking of buying a cheap lanzar amp for like $130 that advertizes 4000w. even if its only 2000w thatll be pretty damn loud. and i was gonna go with two of the ems sub+box combos.... when i start working more this summer.

^ it'll most likely produce 200w if anything, anysways there are quite a few arguments if a cap is every needed and at the end of the day they are not. It also has nothing to do with the car its in but its highly unlikely you would be pushing anywhere near the sort of power levels that would require a cap.

Don't see that many 12" subs in this thread, mostly 8" and 10".

I just put in a super simple Alpine USB head unit with Infinity 6.5" components in the doors & then using the larger '93+ tweeter covers to get those tweets in there. I should have done this ages ago, I'm enjoying my music all over again. The sonic tones, the clarity, the nuances, the echoes and reverb I've been missing with my crappy cheapies. I think either nothing or the burble of the exhaust would have been better than that old setup.

Here's my 12" sub, bought it off a previous MR2 owner. It's getting installed tomorrow along with this amp I bought. Should make an excellent compliment to what I've got already. The PO gutted the factory sub, haven't plugged it up yet. On Saturday I'm picking up a couple of Alpine 3.5" drivers to replace the factory speakers behind the seats.

One audio tech advised me that I should turn the sub opposite of the seatback so I don't get the full force of the 12" driver. I think I might do that.

Not even visble w/ the seat back.

Smile

here is my setup, finally got it fitted not long ago,
running pioneer deh-p80rsII, alpine pdx-5 5ch amp, infinity perfect 6.1 front component, rear earthquake 4" speaker, and alpine 12" type-s in custom box.

here is the photo.

amp sit under passenger seat

sub behind passenger seat, even tall person can sit in

infinity speaker on the doors

Cross over is too big to hide behind door so i had to install under drivers seat

way i installed the cross over is becuase you dont need to ever adjust them if ever, and amp hide under passenger seat for stealth reason. if you need make some adjustment to the amp, just take out the passenger seat you can adjust with ease sitting on the drivers side.

i put the sub behind passenger seat is becuase you might need more room to adjust the drivers seat for comfort reason , also you can access the little box behind the drivers side if you ever need it.
