What are some options?

I have been debating on turbos for my mr2 for the fact of tuning. I could go with the ATS td06 with a ROM tune and potentially be set with safe limits because of the ROM tune, however I want a fast spooler turbo.
The fast spooling craze led me to a gt28rs and gt2871. Now the only problem is if I bought 1 of these kits, 550cc injectors. I don't have anything to control the fuel with.

I was going to really do gt2871, afpr, 550cc injectors. Any ideas I can look into for controlling these items? I was looking into the megasquirt, as I read it now has basic knock control, but I was wondering if I could use a safc with the afpr or any ideas please?

You don't really need the afpr. You do need a different rail if you are going with a bigger pump, which you should consider if you are getting bigger injectors.

MegaSquirt is fine if you are an expert at engine management and building circuits, and you have a LOT of free time to troubleshoot.

Ditch the SAFC. That's the fastest way to blow your car that I can think of off-hand.

I have walbro pump and bored fuel rail so I am set there.
I was going to get a prebuilt megasquirt, AMS chicago is local to me, and they tune megaquirts.

Well then I would consult them. Often MS requires other stuff that drives the price up (like trigger signal conditioners).

ahh havent read up much on the megaquirt, seemed like a fairly decent option, I noticed I think they now offer a knock control.

Offering knock control and offering good knock control are two different things. All the same, it really comes down to local tuners. If that's what you have available, then go with MS.

I actually just put in a GT28RS into mine. I think it's an excellent turbo. Along with some bigger injectors, I'm not sure what size the injectors are. I just went down to summit racing and they had a power guide for all the injectors. I went with the AEM ecu setup, I had gotten the Greeeedy setup initially but wiring was really complicated. The AEM is simpler. The cars been initially dynoed w/ stock turbo and just the ecu installed and exhaust (2.5" custom Magnaflow) with some fine tuning at 258 at the wheels. Turbo is installed, need to get another Dyno done. Will fill you in on details.

Yeah I understand, im guessing the MS knock control isnt the 'best' but they offer it now as I saw.
ATS said they could send me a rom tune for the 2871, but I would have to get it dynoed as they havent had a in house one yet. I could also drive down to ATS (9 hours) and get my car ROM tuned by them, but the drive and such I am not sure..

Yes. Come to Denver and frooze to dealth. Calis frooze the fastest! They also can't drive on snow and ice, and think SUVs will cover up their inabilities. SUVs don't help, they actually hurt (pun intended) your ability to drive on snow and ice.
