piggy back ecu
Hey guys with a gen 2 mr2 JDM motor, JDM ECU, JDM trans w/ lsd, HKS 20g turbo, warlboro fuel pump, water injection, upgraded intercooler. Now if i was to purchase a piggyback ECU to turn the fuel when i get a fuel rail and bigger in jectors will it work fine ? Can someone recommend me some brand names and tell me the difference between a piggyback ecu and EMS... i read a thread that piggy is good for up to 350rwhp. My goal is to make about 350-400 somewhere in that range as long as i hit 350rwhp im happy. With my setup am i capable and please help me choose a ECU to tune and what size injectors i need. I heard around 800-850cc top fed injectors with a nice fuel rail... But will a piggyback ecu handle it? Can someone help me out and give me some feed back and tell me the difference between the piggy and ems because price range is uge... Thanks
P.S. is piggy back enough for 350-400 whp ? would appreciate any comments thanks. |

Piggybacks....if worked with properly piggybacks will work great! Something like the smt6 which can tune your timing and fuel is your ONLY option. Do NOT buy anything that cannot touch your timing!
There are a couple other products that I hope to release very soon, one of which plugs directly into your injectors to tune! Once that bad boy is out the pains of tricking an ecu becomes much less of one! Overall i highly suggest a standalone, but again,....if you know what your doing a good piggyback will do. I just cant stress that point enough... |

The SMT6 is a great piggyback, but at THOSE power levels, you really are in EMS territory. The stock AFM's flap is fully open at around 250 rwhp. You can tune the fueling uncontrolled to around 300, but you are completely succeptible to a boost spike blowing your motor.
You really should heavily consider an EMS. |
