My Google Map

My Hydra showed up yesterday!!

I will be working on installing it probably 5/26, and I'm sure I will have some questions. I'll be Auto-Xing for the first time this Sun, so I can't do it this weekend...

Here are the specs on my car so far...

93 Turbo
-SSAC Innercooler
-SSAC Downpipe 3"
-Custom 3" exhaust with high flow cat
-Aeromotive FPR - will bump the pressure up to probably 45 with the Hydra
-Walbro 255 FP to be installed when I start the EMS install
-Will do a tripple feed to the fuel rail - Stock injectors for now
-Boost Guage

Hydra EMS
-Launch control wire
-Wide Band O2
-Boost Controller

I will attempt to tune it myself and probably check it out on a dyno later.

One question I have off the bat is can I adjust the injectors individually i.e. increase the output of cyl 3 by 5% and 2 by 3% to compensate for the air distribution issue?

Thanks.

The injection trims are under the Injection button on the Select->Settings panel.

The Nemesis assumes the engine firing order is 1-2-3-4 but the real firing order is 1-3-4-2. Because of this, you have to adjust INJECTION 2 TRIM to change cylinder 3 and INJECTION 4 TRIM to change cylinder 2.

I installed the software and I'm trying to get familiar with it before I actually install and tune the ems. I can't seem to open the tuning page, rather, I don't know how to do it. Is it possible to open the tuning page without the ems connected? Thanks.

Not trying to sound rude at all. But before you install or try to play with the software I'd recomend reading the entire isntallation section on MRControls at:

That's what I was doing. It would help me understand what I'm reading if I can actually see the screen and what things do. I have worked on MS a some with my 68 Dart, I just want to get a feeling for this software.

Where exactly are you running into problems? And please say you're not running WindowsVista

I just finished reading the manual and the on-line primer. The manual was almost worthless for me, seemed to be written for a pro tuner. I found the on-line primer much more average Joe friendly. I will probably tune the fuel curves as best I can and then have a tuner/dyno do the ignition.

I haven't installed the Hydra yet, but wanted to look at some of the tuning screens. I opened the software and opened one of the maps that came on the disc. The name of the map shows up in the text area at the bottom. When I click on Maps, I get an error messege (Run-Time error '8002': Invalid Port Number). I'm running XP.

Sounds like your COM1 port is either not a real serial port or there is some problem with it. The best thing to do for just playing with the software at this time would be to go to the Tools->Preferences panel on the entry screen and select OFF for AUTO CONNECT ON MAIN WINDOW. Press the "Save and Exit" button to save your preferences and then press the MAPS button. You may want to figure out which COM port your serial device is really connected to and then you can select that as the default COM port in the same preferences panel. Don't forget to set your preference back to ON for auto connect when you start doing real work on the Nemesis otherwise you will have to explicitly turn the communications to the unit on every time you enter the maps screen to do your tuning work.

I don't believe I have a serial port as my laptop doesn't have a 9 pin connector. I do have a 15 pin connector, guess I'll need an adaptor. How do I figure out what Comm port it is?

The 15 pin connector is to hook up an external monitor. You will need to purchase a good PC-Card (PCMCIA) to serial interface to connect to the Nemesis.
