JAW DIY WBo2 (Just Another Wideband)
The sensor was around 50 bux at a local autozone when I bought it... I think the price has went up since the demand has went up for these sensors... I dont know the price now... Look up a sensor for the 2000+ VW golf 1.8T... i think the part number is 17014 at autozone... The only thing is this unit dosnt come with a case so you would have to build ur own case... Ive put together a case for my unit kinda cheaply...
Most of the parts are from Radio Shack, the case I got from a website called Circuit Specialists ( Circuit Specialists, Inc -- Online Catalog or Circuit Specialists - Data Acquisition - Industrial Computers - Fluke Test Equipment - Components & Supplies... ) The LM317 is isolated from the housing using a "mica" pad with a lil heat sink compound on both sides, (be careful not to use a metal mounting screw to the case, and if u do, make sure its isolated.) I got the mica pad from a kit for my DIY ECU (Megasquirt) You might be able to send the guys at DIYAutoTune.com Megasquirt Kits / Assembled Engine Management Systems, Wideband o2 Sensor Systems and tuning products an email to see how much it would cost for some pads or where to source them. Everything else is pretty simple, especially if you have a dremel and time. This took me a few hours to put together. |

Thanks guys, working on putting alot of my work in the sticky sections and also the KB for this site... Finally hooked up with a good member of this board that is going to help me put a lot of my info on the stickys and KB's... I have a v6 Twin Turbo I'm setting up so hopefully I'll get something nice to toss up there... Also thinking of doing Flush mount headlights and Megasquirt and all that good stuff... Stay Tuned...

i bought a JAW a couple weeks after alan released them. they do work pretty well, but the output was slightly jumpy. i believe he's working on a new firmware update that will fix the issue..
good stuff either way! |
