Thank you for the welcome. Yes, good eye... it is in Auto Trader, but alas, I am the orig owner. Got an offer of 17,500 which I accepted for it, but the deal fell through this morning because the buyer could not get financing for the car and does not have that kind of cash ono hand.
I bit the bullet in Feb and bought a Porsche Boxter S. I still love the MR2, always will and would actually like to keep both but made an agreement with my husband to sell the MR2 if I bought the Boxter. I have owned 3 MR2s, they ROCK! Cheers! ![]() |

Sell the Boxter.
Just kidding....sorta. Unfortunately, you are looking for a specialized buyer for that car. Lately, I have seen the prices they bring on an upward trend, but it is a cash-in-hand buyer that you are looking for since finance companies base the value off of inaccurate sources like Kelly Blue Book.

Exactly! I love the car and am in no hurry to sell. I have to say, the Porsche is really nice. what is cool though, is it is not a "downer" to get back into the MR2, but the Porsche is faster and is also a beautiful machine/work of art. I consider the MR2 a work of art as well. The styling could not really be much improved upon... People who do not know the MR2 have no idea how very nice they really are, both cosmetically, ergonomically and mechanically.
Cheers! |

95 VIN registry
Here is mine: JT2SW22N8S0098430
I'm in Memphis, TN. I bought it in Louisville, KY from the original owner back in 8/01 with 44k on it. It now has 54k on it. I'm so happy with the "93 V6 that Brad swapped for me, that I'm considering selling this one...but I'm also considering selling the 93 and having him do an even bigger swap into the 95. Tough decision! Last edited by lateralG's; 07-25-2006 at 06:00 PM. |

Definitely. That makes 6 hardtop 95's that I have VINs for, and I know of two others, but I didn't start collecting VINs until recently. Until we get a lower or higher number in the sequence, we have 222 1995 NA MR2s made for the North American market.
Crispin, can you get your VIN to me please? |

It's on the drivers side door jamb. It's actually a sticker, not a plate. Has the month it was built, along with some other codes to tell you the transmission type, car color, etc.

I have pretty much completed my VIN research for the 95 NAs. The total 95 NA models are 200 for the US market. The data was mined from various sources, but mostly the Toyota EPC. I did reference online ads, Carfax, Experian, and planet-torque, but everything was verified against the EPC, which is where I got the color info, roof type, tranny type, build date etc. There are 3 that that EPC had no data on for some reason. Here's some interesting trivia.
http://www.mr2.com/files/mr2/mk2/95/95navins-post.htm Colors Red - 61 Black - 48 White - 41 Green - 33 Blue - 6 SMG - 5 Yellow - 3 Unknown - 3 (I think it's a crime there were not more Blue or SMG. )Roof Types T-Top - 127 Sunroof - 34 Hardtop - 36 * Unkown - 3 *I'm not 100% sure the EPC is completely accurate, but if it didn't specifically say the car had a sunroof, I classed it as a hardtop. I think it's fairly close though. Transmission Types Automatic - 28 * Manual - 166 Unknown - 6 ** *Number shipped as Auto from the factory. One 95 NA was converted from manual to Auto and is not reflected in these numbers. **In some cases the EPC didn't state the transmission type. Emissions California - 74 48 State - 105 Unknown - 21 *** ***In some cases the EPC didn't state the emissions type. Build Dates Jul 94 - 4 Aug 94 - 29 Sep 94 - 40 Oct 94 - 41 Nov 94 - 29 Dec 94 - 5 Jan 95 - 10 Feb 95 - 5 Mar 95 - 10 Apr 95 - 11 May 95 - 16 Last edited by Ncturnal; 08-10-2007 at 12:57 AM. Reason: Changed Build Dates from 05 to 95. |

OK Ncturnal, I follow how you were able to use ads, Carfax, Experian, planet-torque, and the EPC for most of the info. I can't figure out where the list of VIN numbers can be found. I would like to see a registry for the rest of '94-'95 cars someday. I would like to finish one for the '94 na 's first . Do you think an EPC disk bought on Ebay would work for me?
