Smurfcrusher, I'm looking nationally and using just about every online resource I can find. Just taking my time to make sure I get a good one. At the moment I'm considering a well-maintained, one owner, '91 turbo/leather w/ 80,000 mi. The owner is asking $8.5k. Assuming it's in good nick, do you think that's a reasonable price? My sense is no because it's been on sale for over a month, but the owner is holding out. I'm inclined to wait for a similar vehicle to come up at a lower price but I'm wondering if my expectations are unrealistic.

My experiences with this search have got me thinking that it would be useful to start a section where people can share findings from inspections/test drives. I've paid for three so far and would have been be happy to share the findings with other prospective buyers. I know that two of the cars that I looked at sold for much more than they were worth, considering the long lists of problems they had.
