World Record Attempt In April, 2007

It was decided by my myself (Mick Jones from the MR2OC-UK) to promote this world record attempt after a fellow MR2OC-UK member posted about the TVR club trying to set a new world record for the most vehicles of a single marque in a single place. I tried to do a similiar thing last year with very little interest so to get thee ball rolling agian i said i wouldn't mind organizing it, so taking the bull by the horns so to speak, I posted a thread on the MR2OC-UK site "World REcord Attempt, Get your Names Down Here".

As it happens, a fellow member of the OC-UK is the manager of the British Racing & Sportscar Club and said he could sort this to be held at the Rockingham Race Track in Northampton.

After liasing with Steve, we set a date for the 29th of April, 2007 and the Event now has been posted on all the MR2 OC's.

To break the record currently held by the MR2OC in the Nederlands, we need 193 MR2's and to date we have over 300 names down and are set to shatter there record.

If you want to be apart of this, please email me at topgunjones@ntlworld.com, this will no doubt be the event of 2007.

MR2Only will be attending this event with all of their team and MR2's for a photographic Extravaganza, visit your owners club forum now and get your name added to the list.

I think the biggest chance for success would have to be either in Georgia or in central california.

But vegas would be fun too.

I don't know, but it seems to me like the most MR2's are concentrated in CA and FL

I think actually a north meets south meet somewhere in central california like Bakersfield or Fresno would be better, or maybe on the coast like San Luis Obispo or Pismo Beach, than just a so cal meet. Either way let me know when and im there.

the mk1 meet had 90 mk1's
the National MR2 meet in the mountains had about 50 or so.

nothing that would come close to a record
