What is the best Car Event You've Attended?
Most Car Club Events seem to have the same Show & Shine, Poker Run or scenic drive and maybe an autox make up the weekend. What have been the best / most memorable activities at a Car Club Event you've attended? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I had an amazing time at BC2004. We spent a night at the street-legal drags in Mission, BC for a Friday night, then went for a nighttime drive. Saturday we had a show-and-shine and poker cruise to a nice picnic spot for dinner. Then on Sunday there was Auto-X. ...I think that's how it went
![]() EDIT: RePete had to set me straight on what year I went to the BC meet ![]()

I was at BC2004, same stuff as above. It was really fun because it was hot & sunny the whole time and there was a great turn-out. On top of that, we were stationed right under the airshow in the Trade-X parking lot for the high speed auto-X (could shift into 3rd gear for one leg).
That was a blast, will be tough to top that one in my memory book. ![]() |

the Copper State Classic ranks way up there... as does every time I have gone to the Historics @ Laguna Seca. As for Import stuff, I went to the JGTC event in Cali a few years ago with some of the local MR2 club and it was quite amazing. If you can get people together to go to a large event that you might not be part of, it's always a win

Hmmm... That's a tough one.
I'd have to say one of the following three: 1. BC2005: for reasons already stated (It was before I had my MR2) 2. 2 The Beach 2006: This meet was awesome, an entire weekend in Ocean Shores with a bunch of MR2 owners. I didn't go on the drive because I just wasn't feeling it (Spent a lot of money on gas on the way down as it was) but every night there was a bon fire with beer, and seriously... bon fire + alcohol + Ocean + MR2 Owners = Instant success. 3. Mt. Baker Run 2006: My friend and I organized this drive and had about 90 cars show up from all different groups. It was awesome because unlike most large drives everyone was fairly well behaved and we were able to keep organized. It made for some AWESOME shots up top on Baker. |

I am a little biased...probably my favorite meet was my first one...an IMOC meet in Birmingham. It was a warm Feb. day in the low 70's...and roughly 30 MR2's showed up, most of them unannounced. Later that same year we had one in Nashville, and old school guys (like me) still talk about it to this day. We made a drive down a backroad to Bowling Green KY, and people were coming out of their houses to wave at us, some with cameras, as they must have been calling neighbors about the high speed ruckus blazing by.
But if I can try to be non-biased, Z clubs have wicked meets, as they are always sponsored by Z1, Tire Rack, etc...and often Nissan too. They always have 3 day meets with Nissan plant tours, drives, dynos, special guests, etc...and never less than 100 cars, often 200-500. But sometimes it just doesn't feel right... I still remember the early MR2 meets, and hold them dear, as they simply had so much "heart". Sheer fun! |

Since it was the first and only one I have been to since getting into the scene, I'm going to have to go with Bear Mountain 2007. I've never seen anything like it!.

Lets see, best car event I've ever been to... Thats a hard one.
It was at Lowes Motor Speedway. Was a bunch of domestic old muscle cars, one Ferrari, a ton of MX-5's and millions of old mustang parts. Pretty gay event to say the least, but it was the highlight of the Carolinas... Which is even sadder. |

Bear Mtn. Joe Pearlstein memorial run. 11 Years and counting, beautiful sweeping roads, lakes, streams, forest, West Point Military academy... 70+ owners, lots of give-aways, lots of great people. Hands down best car event Ive ever been involved with.
