~South East, Florida meet~

Ok, because there are people interested in meeting up, but not driving 5hrs to do so, we're organizing a South East, Florida MR2 (and other cars?) meet.
So far I've heard Miami is interested, a few people from Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm. So just drop a note here if your interested and well see what we can come up with.

Do we allow other cars, or only MR2's?

Drop an idea or two if you really want this to happen. Otherwise your stuck driving 5hrs to Tampa.

I'll be happy to organize and email, but I'm not going to also do all the suggesting.

I'm IN! I'm from ft Lauderdale, have you ever been to the car show on the Home Depot in university Dr and 595? fridays evenings are cool, it's full of nice cars, we could meet there.

if you guys are willing to drive a little furter north, maybe 2 - 2 1/2 hours I'm sure there would be a bunch of people from NE FL (i.e. Jacksonville and Daytona) would be willing to trek down. We just got done driving 5 hours to Atlanta so another 5 hour drive isnt tempting, but 2-3 hours is doable for most of us up here.

Ok, I've never been to a car show other than like NOPI, so I don't know what is "the norm" as far as bbq, park, resturant. I'm game for any one of them.

I agree with including other cars as well, it's always nice to just "share the love".

I'm not too thrilled to make that 3hr drive just yet. I think it would be great to plan something where both North and South could do, with a resonable drive time for both, but I'm just not ready to do that right now.

I do like the idea of maybe the group going to that Home Depot carshow.
And Ft. Lauderdale is a center of Miami and West Palm, so I'd put my vote there unless there are other ideas? Remember, it's just the first of hopefully many meets, so it'd be good not have to arrange something too complex for the first meet.

P.s. As of 1hr ago my car is undriveable due to an idiot in an SUV that decided to backup at a red light. So I might not even make it to our first event.

What would be a somewhat central location for everyone? How far is it to Orlando for everyone. Not neccesarily this meet, but maybe planning another meet in the near future.

We should do a southeast florida meet in fort lauderdale there is a park that all the vw's have a meet at every year ( I'll find out more details about it) and its a good spot and it seems to be the most central location for everyone in the southeast area and we should have a florida meet in Orlando as it is the center of the state and 3 1/2 hrs. from miami 2 1/2hrs from west palm 3hrs from lauderdale and not far from daytona jacksonville and the west coast of the state, let me know what you guys think...

Orlando sounds good to me. I know its about 2 1/2 hours for us Jacksonville people. Definately an easy drive for us. Also, the JaxMR2s.com group will be expanding soon to offer a website for all of the FL owners. Ill let you know when www.flmr2s.com is up.

Wow, thought this thread had died a while ago. Are people interested in this again? I wouldnt mind a pre-meet before the big one in April in Orlando. Cant wait for that one, its been a while since I've been around that many twos.

I'm still interested in tha SEFL meeting how many of us live down here??? If this Friday evening does not rain, we can meet in the Home Depot Parking, its 2 bucks per car, this home depot its located in University Drive and i595 what do you think about it?
