I included this one since I've already paid to attend both days of the event. Also, if someone is unable to attend the Birmingham event, this is a good 3-day weekend alternative and will be closer for the Florida crew.

It is a track day. This is a seperate event from the Birmingham event. It's $360 for both days with classroom and in-car instruction. Trust me, it will be a ton of track time. I did over 90 laps (close to 200 miles) on the track in one day at Barber's. I was exhausted at the end of the day.

Registration for the track portion of the event is now open and the prices have been lowered. Please use the link in the first post to sign up. Registration is limited and is not exclusive to MR2 members, so sign up early. For those that have not been to Savannah, it is quite a fun town, and you are sure to have a good time at the track as well. See you there.

I'm coming to this if it's still happening.
Can't wait.....track day...at the beach: something me and the wife can agree on. ![]() Edit: Do we have to sign up with Chin Motorsports for the additional $50 in order to register? Last edited by Tyler H; 04-06-2006 at 11:31 PM.. |

Yes, the event is still happening. I've already paid for my spot on the track. Chin Motorsports is handling the registrations, and there are no other fees for the event other than their track & instructor fees. It's not an MR2 exclusive event, but rather just a fun couple of days at the track, beach, and downtown Savannah.
Space is limited, so if you plan to attend and participate in the track day, sign up early. If you wish to attend simply to hang out, meet other owners, watch the event, and hang out afterwards, there is no cost for that. |

I'm registered and paid. You do have to pay the $50 fee to join Chin Motorsports, unless you have made other arrangements, Brian.

Sure, but you really ought to drive if you're going to be there anyway.

Actually i did think about it and i wanted to.... but i wont have my license till june. But also, its going to be hard for me to be able to drive on the track. Mainly cuz of my mom. heh She probably doesn't want the Z on the track cuz its a "classic." ( and she doesn't understand driving on the track --- OR SPONSORSHIPS WHICH I WAS QUALIFIED FOR! {VerticalDoors, Kyowa Wheels, Tsunami Audio and Fidanza Motorsports} - www.TEAMSCP1.com also wanted to sponsor me... i dont know which sponsors from that site tho... there probably quasi but hey if i had the $94.. that $94 can get me a couple hundred off the original price of items...... I'm also restoring the car a bit too. I mean the car is in almost perfect condition. You should see how many things were replaced b4 i got the car. I'm just restoring cosmetics, like the inside trunk panel. some how its like... sliced... lol ---- dont ask..--- and the trunk flap that covers the luggage.. - but i bring it up because since i dont have a fixed income rite now... if i can afford to do it or if my mom will pay for the day. then i'll go. (ha when she sees me racing around the drive she'll probably be hesitate about giving me the car. Yesterday i was telling her about my friends 90HP escort, (HA!, i hope he does read this.) then she asked me how much HP does the Z have. lol i was like " i dont know" hehe. But really, yea my car is fast with around 215hp ... but i dont drive fast and wreckless like these idiots. (teenagers like me.) I mean, i've proved to her... she even let me to kroger by myself....
BUT ANYWAY-- imma try to go. Do you HAVE to be a liscense driving to go around the track? i mean well, my permit says "DRIVERS LICENSE" ---- and in small letters - CP (class permit) heh. Besides... with a enough GT4 (haha jk) --- but with an instructor, i know it will be worth it. |
