Thumbs up

So here is the next step:

Overflow backup plan: Amboy River Park (weather permitting). You will not be responsible for finding this on your own unless you are late. I will post that official plan later on.

Caravaning: If you are interested in meeting up with other people from your area and traveling to Asheville together, I will be starting a couple caravan threads so that you can gather people from your area there and discuss meeting points etc. Also, to make things easier, if the head of each group will go to our site www.mr2guru.com and get Mapquest directions from your meeting point. This will save trees . That way each person doesn't have six sets of directions from home, to meeting point; from home, to the meet; etc. That will lessen the chances of anyone getting lost.

I will try to get these caravan threads going within the next 7 days. Some may be running as soon as this weekend. If you see that there is not a thread for your area by that time, you may feel free to start your own to rally up.

Oooh, that sounds great! Good food at a fancy place and we get to pick on the Honda/Nissan kids!! (j/k Jeff )
I dont know if everyone would like to spend that much on dinner tho . Whats the going rate for a buffet plate there?

It would definately make for good pics, weather permitting!!

The Grove Park buffets are huge. You could easily kill yourself at one of those!

Harry or Mindy,

When will you know for sure if NoShoes will be making or not?

He is pretty sure that he is coming, but I'm leaving room for error in case something comes up for him that he has to do instead. So far its a yay, but I'm sure if a nice gig comes along he'll have to rearrange his schedule.

I'm 90% sure I'll be there. Still finalizing plans, though.

Heh-heh. I only asked about Bryan because if he and April are coming, I have some work I need to make sure I get done before then.

CARAVAN THREADS!!!:)

TN Caravan:
http://www.mr2board.com/forums/mr2-m...18th-meet.html

SC Caravan:
http://www.mr2board.com/forums/mr2-m...18th-meet.html

ATL/GA Caravan:
http://www.mr2board.com/forums/mr2-m...18th-meet.html

Charlotte/Rock Hill area Caravan:
http://www.mr2board.com/forums/mr2-m...18th-meet.html

Eastern NC Caravan:
http://www.mr2board.com/forums/mr2-m...18th-meet.html

Virginia Caravan:
http://www.mr2board.com/forums/mr2-m...18th-meet.html

A lot of these caravans will junction together, so have a look at the others to see if yours will junction with them. It may make things a lot easier for the ATL Crew to meet up with someone familiar with Greenville, SC as you will have to travel on a non-interstate highway before traveling up to Asheville.
TN will not need to junction with another caravan unless maybe some of the GA crew are closer to I-40 than I-75/85 N.

Hopefully this makes planning your trip a little easier.

If any of you are planning on spending the night in a Hotel that evening, let me know so that I can try to make arrangements for a discounted group rate at a local hotel. I know a lot of you live 4+ hours away, and if you'd like to stay and party a little, I would like you to plan on staying. I have room for about 7 people to stay at our place if 3-4 of you dont mind sleeping-bags and a floor .
We do have pets, including cats, so if you have an allergy it may not be the best idea to crash here.
Hotels in the area are pretty cheap this time of year as we are out of the tourist season. I think it would be pretty fun to have some of you stay until Sunday if any of you would like more personal time with us at the shop.

I do hope we can keep this meet going late to fit in enough activites and more one-on-one time with each of you. With an attendance like this, it should be very entertaining, but it may limit your time with each guest/vendor.

If this meet goes well, I would like to plan something like this yearly to keep everyone's meet withdrawals to a minimum. This way we can expect a good, big meet twice a year (ours and Mitch's July 4th meets).

Smaller quarterly meets will still be nice to have between the big ones. Such coordinators in each area are greatly appreciated. Asheville in itself is a decent sized meet daily at our shop, so we wouldn't mind traveling to SC, Raleigh/Durham, Hickory, and ATL for other quarterly meets to mix it up a little.

I will quit now with the dang novel and let you guys start planning.
