^Scared you will get another?? If you don't speed or drive wreckless they will not just give you a ticket for shits and giggles...most the time that is.

Forgive me for saying this but it maybe a good idea to postpone this until a warmer time for the safety of everyone in their Mr2's. I'm not worried about myself but Wintry mix could mean freezing conditions and that spells disaster for everyone.

With experienced drivers, the MR2 is as good as any 2wd in snow. I drove mine 28 miles to work on summer tires in 4" of snow that was laying on top of frozen rain. Everybody here is 100% responsible for their own level of danger. Your right foot is adjustable.

I may have to agree on the snow/postponement deal. By the time dinner is over and we hang out, things could be pretty horrible getting down the hill.

Oh, and puh-leeeease. I don't need snow to do doughnuts.

Hmmmm. Hope there's still some Krispy Kremes on the kitchen table at work.

Well, based on weather response, I'm going to need some convincing/reassurance to postpone this meet. Its not due to the weather concern, but the fact that you guys needed a good advance, which could put us too close to the July meet. I need reassurance that you will all still join us at a later date if weather gets in the way. Are all 48 of you willing to come in March/April?
The impression I got was that no one could make it unless I gave an ample advance, so that is why it came to be set for Feb. 18th. Also, considering the weather hadn't gotten below 37 degrees at all until 2 weeks ago I had hoped we were safe. The almanac said in 50 years of records, there should only be an 18% chance of precipitation (rain; not snow). WNC weather is a PITA to predict as in some cases we get snow into April.
I would like some feedback from you guys as to when would be a better time to postpone this meet to. Is April too close to the July meet for any of you to come to both? Is March too soon for anyone to adequately plan?

Anyone still making the trip this Saturday are welcome to at your own discretion. You're also more than welcome to call us for weather updates or to make a last minute decision. (828)776-GURU

I am definitely game to postpone to March (I will be working in Charlotte then so it will be much closer for me) Definitely not driving out there from ATL for bad weather

I guess it comes down to personal safety choice then. There are many roads out of Asheville, and not all of them have big hills to slide down.

Also, I-40 will have traffic going up and down it non-stop the whole time we are in town. Its a holiday weekend. When traffic keeps moving on a road, it makes it harder to freeze.... and makes it just as safe as driving in water on a rainy night. Has anyone seen how many 18 wheeler trucks are on this part of 40? Millions....

Im already in town, and Im not jumping ship before the meet is over just becaues of the gas and hotel expenses I've already paid.

Hope I see you guys here. =)

Just last week it was like 50-60deg, and then over the weekend we got snow and ice. The weather up here changes so quickly.
