Northern Califonia's Big Summer MR2 Meet '09

It's Official! the plans are set. Reservation is covered. It is my first year hosting this meet but I'm expecting a very good turnout. From new mr2 owners, to the usuals, the ex- owners, and the OG's! are welcome to come out and gather.


This is going to be an ALL DAY EVENT! BBQ/ DRIVE/ BEACH Photo session/ Dinner

Here's the quick stats:

When: JUNE 27, 2009
Where: Stafford Lake Park in Novato, CA
Address: 3904 Novato Blvd, Novato, CA, United States
TIME: starts 8AM MR2's begin to trickle in

DIRECTIONS: From Highway 101, take San Marin Drive to Novato Boulevard, to Novato Boulevard / Hicks Valley Road, then go west past the Stafford Lake Dam.

Meet Registration Fee: $15 per Person for early registration send to Paypal address Zhao112886@yahoo.com or can pay up front PRIOR to the meet day.
If you want to come. you must be registered or will be asked to go home.

When registering please remember to include:
NAME
Board Name
Car Model
Location you are traveling from (city) NO Lying
Please Note: If you will have passenger or not. Remember each person has to register.
Each registration fee paid gets 1 Free Raffle ticket Extra Raffle tickets can be purchased at the meet before 1PM for $1 each.

PARKING Fee: $8/car/day (Is NOT part of the registration fee to this meet.) You pay this amount AT the park gate to enter.. not to me. If you do send it to me I'll consider it a donation towards the food.

Fishing is allowed from the shore of the lake only. State of California fishing license is required for such fishing. Stafford Lake is stocked with largemouth bass and redear sunfish - no trout. License is not required for children 16 years of age and under.

Boating and swimming are not permitted as this is a public drinking water supply lake, and no water contact is permitted in a public water reservoir.

Clean up and get ready for next phase by 4PM

So what's happening after the BBQ/ Meet?
A nice cruise down to Drakes Bay Beach / Pt. Reyes by 5pm
Perfect time for photo taking! big open lot. group shots, scenic shots, etc
Hang tight for a while and enjoy the views and company.

Is that it? NO!
Head to a restaurant owned by one of our member's gf's family. They will have setup space for our group. Cost for this meet isn't covering the dinner. Each person pays their part. Figure that we can sit down as a group and feast once more before heading home. Great way to close the day.

As for video, I can't edit video for the life of me. So IF someone can do it. That would be awesome.
I have a bullet cam suction mount but no bullet cam =(

Those who Plan to bring a nice dish to help make the food more diverse. Please email me. I can waive your registration fee. Can Only waive 1 registered person for the potluck. Sorry but registration cost not only covers food but the rest of the cost of the whole meet. So if Driver brings something
themself. Only driver is exempt. IF coming with a passenger then either driver or passenger is exempt. no matter what registration still must be done so we can get a car count / separate head count. LIMITED number of people bringing POTLUCK style food. Final number will depend on total number of people going.

Looking into getting a guest DJ =) just exchanging emails now.

So as promised. Here is the rough break down of how I hope the day will go.
6-7AM wake up load up double /triple check everything gather my group and head out by 7:30AM
Tip: get some breakfast prior to going to park. breakfast is good for you :thumbup
8AM-8:30 Arrive at the park and set up. Have some people guide the cars to go where. This year I prefer it to not be color arranged but want them to be parked by MR2 generation and then the "others". Makes judging for show n shine go smoother.
9AM judging begins for those who are there. Judging will go on until 11AM
12 Lunch. There will be cooking going on prior (feed the cook first) but should be cranking out some good BBQ for everyone else around that time.
1:45PM is when purchasing extra raffle tickets will close.
around 2PM I will do raffles. Thanks to the sponsors and some even out of my own pocket money.
Right after raffles I will do the awards for the show n shine.
Whenever that is over roughly 3:30 I went everyone to help do their part and clean up and pack up. I want to leave the place like how it was when we get there.
Line up by 4PM and big caravan towards Point Reyes / Drakes Beach about a 30-40 min drive from what I hear from Snowdrifter89.
