Hell yeah and it's spring all the ladies are tired of covering up, the sets are begining to come out

Only things I miss not having up here are Best Buy and Taco Bell until they finish rebuilding, there are 16,000 college students going crazy with no Taco Bell!

I'm deffinatly looking forward to this meet though!

Or 44 miles from Boone is ETSU - appx. 70% female - and easily 20 clubs / bars right next to campus. Plus there are 3 more colleges within 15 miles of it, all female dominated.

Blowing Rock which has the coolest drive and best veiw of the entire parkway. Also hwy221 is directly beside of it which is one of the closest roads to the dragon I've seen.
The Snake is possibly the best drive in my experience from driving all roads in the area for the last few years, including the Dragon. It is a pretty well kept secret except to the street bike guys, but I am sure that will soon change due to the issues plaging the Dragon lately.
I agree there is no question the dragon is the most challenging, but then you get into the quantity versus quality thing.
I do like 221 however and 209 to Hot Springs is also a trip - you get to see Jed Clampett type stuff.

So where exactly is the snake?

We need to meet up some time at Bristol Drag strip, I plan on going there a couple times this season, or atleast until I hopefully hit high 11's

The snake is based on 421 and goes all over the place right at the border of TN and NC...the route has 489 curves. The Country Store is the unofficial center point.

Sometimes I goto the dragstrip and Ride Revolutions events but only to hang out...my MR2 is slow - and my other cars are mostly stock. Anyway, a couple of us do occasional weekend drives over the Snake and occasionally end up in your direction at some point, often in Jefferson, Boone, or Blowing Rock.
On another note, Elizabethton has one of the better cruise-ins downtown every Saturday during warm weather. I am sure we can get something going one weekend - always something to do in the Tri Cities...

Elizabethton is a wonderful town, heck I enjoy just getting to drive over there on a pretty day. East Tennessee is a beautiful place.

TN police trying to stop it (giving many bogus tickets)
Overcrowding and slow moving vehicles on warm weekends
Barely anywhere to get gas / food
No cell service
Really out of the way from most places

Those are off the top of my head.

221 is very scenic but not necessarily a driver's road. It runs more less North and South around the Western edge of NC. It makes a nice route from SW NC to East TN or WNC.
The Snake is located between Boone and the Tri Cities and consists of a few roads located in the vicinity of US 421.
