I want to clarify some misconceptions right now and clear the air. Brian had NOTHING to do with the writing of this. I was asked to contact the CURRENT owner of this car, whom is him, so I spent some time and did so. I interviewed Brian over the phone, taking notes of what was said. I then emailed the notes to a member of this forums staff, whom to my knowledge forward it to someone else whom wrote it. Brain NEVER said Phantasy Kolors did the work on this car.

This car has gone through 2 different transformations. There was the Original body work, and then the current body work. Some of the original bodywork is still left over (the current shaved door handles, moldings, reverse lights and relocation of the gas cap). He said that the ORIGINAL bodywork, which included what was written above, was done by the Father and Son team of Toby and Larry Sanders, now of Phantasy Kolors. They where not at Phantasy Kolors at the time the work was done. He never said Phantasy Kolors did ANY work, and never tried to claim credit for it.

As I said above, he NEVER claimed Phantasy Kolors did the work. Anything that is inaccurate is due to lost in translation. Somewhere between me taking notes and the final person whom wrote it, Brian's words where messed up. This is nothing of his own fault. As the person to whom contacted Brian and talked to him on the phone, and took the initial notes. I will take full responsibility for any and all of the inaccuracies above. Perhaps I did not make my notes clear enough for the person whom I sent them to. I understood what I had written, but perhaps my wording confused others. I apologize to Brian, Ian, and anyone else whom is upset or involved in this mess.

Here is the situation...Finally found out the Truth...I have spoken to Brian regarding the interview that he had for this board as part of being the Mr2 of the month...All that specs and interview was added by the moderator and who ever runs this board...Brian did not say anything about Phantasy Kolors did the body work, that was actually a story made up by the moderator or who ever interviewed him...Brian I'm sorry about replying to this post...I'm not accusing you anything...infact i would email this adminastrator for this board...Brian is been my boy since this whole importscene started way back...Thats why I sold him my ride, and he is taking a good care of the car...
Once again, please moderator or admisnistrator get your story straight, so people does not assume things...and actually its better to have the rite information, as far as you guys running this board....

[MR2Showcase]

The board attempts to present a story that's entertaining and as close to factual as possible. Unfortunately, sometimes clarity is lost in translation. It has never been our intention to reassign or take away credit where due. We're just a bunch of car-nuts too, not historians on each and every MR2 we get permission to present. In the past, it's been our goal to present cars to which originate within our community to extend congratulations and a little publicity to someone who has worked hard to get their car to the state it is in. We see ShowcaseMR2 as a little pat on the back for the guy that goes the extra mile. Perhaps we should be slightly more careful on who and we give 'props' to in the future. We'd hate to step on any more toes.

MR2Board extends their apologies to any party of which the previously posted article caused any animosity. In the future considerable care will be taken to not offend anyone.

AK Autoworks did majority of the original bodywork.

I remember when this beauty was getting started. It turned out awesome! I prefer this more than the s15 head lights

Ian, first off, I emailed you several times. If you have anything to say to me about the interview, then email me back. You have chosen to post here instead of emailing me back. Don't post up in here, email me.

You ask people involved to contact you. I am the one whom conducted the interview, I stated that in here AND via email to you. Yet when I have emailed you on several occasions...I get no response. Stop publicly asking someone to contact you, when you have chosen to ignore my emails. You should have my email. I contacted you. You chose NOT to contact me. End of Story.

I didn't purposefully "get the wrong info," and I don't appreciate being accused of such. I stated that maybe my initial notes where not clear, and that my wording confused the people I forwarded them to. I told you this via email, AND I posted that in here. I DID NOT ADD those things, and I DID NOT MAKE THEM UP. As I said, it was a case of LOST IN TRANSLATION, as my notes were passed from one person to the next. We DID correct it, so this "please get your facts straight" comment is not needed. I have tired hard to correct the facts in this situation, as have the powers that be here. I have worked hard to straighten this out, and I do not appreciates being told I "made something up" when I explained what happened and apologized. I never tried to give someone incorrect info. I stated that above. I took the blame, and said maybe my notes where not written clear enough for the other people to understand. I apologized for that, yet you chose to say what I quoted above. I emailed you, I apologized. If you have anything else to say, you have my email, so email me and DO NOT say it in here. You gave your email and asked someone to contact you, and as the person whom conducted the interview I did so. You have ignored the emailed, and now posted your phone number. Don't leave out credit where credit is due, since that's what started this mess to begin with...with that said...

If you are going back to the ORIGINAL BODYWORK on the MR2, which you ARE, since you mentioned the s15 lights...the father and son team of Toby and Larry Sanders did a good amount of the ORIGINAL bodywork...

if you leave that out your just doing what started this mess to begin with...

Also, I do know there are ppl whom prefer the "original" more wild version of the car

If you and Brian are friends, you should have spoken to Brian before your first post and found out what was going on, instead of calling him out (then speaking to him after the fact and after the damage is done) and starting a load of drama this forum neither wants nor needs...*2 cents*

Badass MR2. I was not a fan of the Do Luck kit for the MR2....until I saw it on this one. It's one of my favorite MR2s.

Oops. I should've clarified I meant the Do-Luck work only since it was local shop that did it. I didn't know who did the original S15 head light work.

Like I said before, I think the car looks great! And its nice to see something different.

Wow i don't even know what happen!!!!
I have been gone out of town and then i come back to this. Well im happy it all got taken care of. I apologize to Mr2.com for all this mess. I never thought my Mr2 becoming car of the month would start so much confusion & misconception and for that i apologize. Well thanks for all the great comments & support and also thanks to the moderator's and admisnistrator for fixing the situation as fast as they did. Also on a better note the Do-luck USA Mr2 has now been sold sold!!!!!
