Summer 2008 Showcase MR2

Congratulations to pit bull - MR2Board's Summer 2008 Showcase MR2!

1994 Toyota MR2 GenIII Turbo

Click the below thumbnails for fullsize pictures:

Few MR2s catch the eye of a passer-by more than one draped in Tropical Blue Metallic, but that's not the only thing that makes Andreas' beautiful '94 MR2 special- it's also powered by a 3SGTE. Hailing from Germany where MR2s are hard to come by in the first place, pit bull is lucky enough to own one that's a little out of the ordinary. Starting life as a 3SGE, Andreas purchased the car in 1999 with under 40,000 miles and swapped in a GenIII 3SGTE when the original heart went south about 50,000 miles later.

Adding to the agressive look of the Tropical Blue Metallic, Andreas' car sits on a lowered suspension running WRD Mesh rims sized 17x8.5 +20 in the front and 17/10 +26 out back. They're wrapped in Hancock rubber sized 215/40 and 245/35. The clean look is continued by shaving the front emblem and smoking the rear lights and changing the fender indicator and front corner lenses for clear versions in exchange for the MR2's amber pieces. Upcoming custom fitted MKV Celica mirrors will round out the exterior. Some enthusiasts might guess that the GenIII breathes out through a Mongoose exhaust, but one thing many

wouldn't know unless seeing the car at night is that it's fitted with the 4Beams lowrise headlight kit. To increase the comfort and style in the interior, a Momo steering wheel, shift knob and handbrake handle and boot flow smoothly with a custom leather interior and a 10th Anniversary Stainless Steel sill set with a custom Stainless Shifter Surround and an Intelli Needle Kit. Enhancing Andreas' driving experience is an Alpine headunit and equalizer mated to a 12 disc changer blasting through custom speakers powered by 2 amps in the front truck.

Congratulations to pit bull being MR2Showcase for Summer 2008!

Happy MR2ing

Top notch, I love it. My favorite color for the MR2.

thank you guys

the mr2 is finished (interior and outside (only the celica mirrors must be painted and mounted))

the place I still have a lot to do is the engine bay

polished trd braces, chrome pipes, intercooler ...

the engine is absolut stock

@ RedAuzBathurst94

the boot is a (special) momo boot, screwed with the momo knob, maybe I change the stitch colour when I need a new one, but this will take ages

@ wagonis

yes it's my little co driver, little colourpoint persian

@canadam

thank you very much Adam !!!

sadly WRD ends the Mesh I series

but they start a new design - Mesh II

very nice but they starts with 18inch, no smaller one available

at present a complete used Mesh I set is to purchase by auction at ebay.de, bolt circle 5x114,3 click

different - their rim base is even, my rim base is stepped

Those look ridiculous on an Elise. (and the extra weight would kill the performance)

They might, however, be alright on a BMW or something.
