So, how does one install SS Sill Plates without the plastic trim? Just wondering how other owners went about installing it.

EPC shows no wood grain steering wheel. Thats why im questioning it. Also the white gauges smells aftermarket. Anniversary doesnt have rear emblem its just that a limited spring release in the UK had a grey one instead of the chrome which was the same color as the anniversary one.
The plastic sills are recessed for the scuff plates so they are flush and also lock them into position. Peronally a retro fit will look just thatas it will sit on the plastic with the ends sharp and no real lock down unless a double sided tape or glue is used

What market is your EPC for?

This car is listed as a 10th Anniversary model and definitely has a woodgrain wheel. However, it's also listed as a 1996. The tenth anniversary cars were 1994s. Perhaps these models were the 10th anniversary of the car in the UK?

Quote:
MR2 GT T-Bar 1996 (P) – “Genuine” 10th Anniversary Edition – No. 36 of 250 – Collectors car in pristine condition.

The following text was taken from a pre-release publication: “Toyota is celebrating a milestone in the history of the much-loved MR2 sports car with a special limited edition - the 10th Anniversary MR2 GT T-Bar. With just 250 individually numbered cars available, in a choice of Caribbean Blue or Lucerne Silver, at a price of £23,149, the model is destined to become a collector's car.”

And this MR2 is No.36
Lucerne Silver with full black leather GT interior.

Genuine cherished example with fully documented service history.
The Anniversary edition included: Full silver body (unavailable on standard mr2), limited edition graphite colour wheels, walnut momo steering wheel, chrome kick plates and a premium sound system.

Recently installed Dual proximity Clifford alarm system with amazing range cost £350.

Clear indicator lenses (though still have the original lenses too)

New Yokahama Tyres on rear.

Electric Ariel, Windows, Mirrors, ABS

MOT until September 2008

Tax until August 2008

Looks and runs like a dream

This vehicle has been very well kept and viewing is a must to appreciate condition.

Yep, I'm quite sure that the 1996 cars with the woodgrain Momo wheel and engine lid badge are not the Japanese 10th Anniversary cars, rather they're UK 10th Anniversary cars.

Another '96, this time in blue. I believe all of the cars in Japan were grey.

Toyota MR2 T-Bar 10th Anniversary Edition GT 16V (1996) on eBay, also, Toyota, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 23-Feb-08 20:51:13 GMT)

Quote:
10th Anniversary Edition - Number 25
UK Car (Not An Import)
101,000 miles
6 Months MOT & 6 Months RFL
Metallic Blue
Excellent Condition

This Vehicle Has Belonged To Me For Just Over A Year Now But Due To Other Commitments I Must Now Look To Sell.

It's A 10th Anniversary Edition, Number 25 Of 250 & I Can't Imagine There Being Too Many Of This Particular Model Left On The Road, & As Such Is Becoming A Collector's Item Amongst Many Motor Enthusiasts. The Car Itself Has A Full Service History & Invoices For Any Repairs That Have Been Done On The Vehicle Over The Last Year Or So. It Has A Relatively Low Mileage For A Vehicle Of It's Age (101,000) & The Fact The Car Has Been Serviced Regularly, Roundabout Every Few 10,000 Miles, It Keeps The Engine Running Smoothly. The Car Has Just Been Fully Serviced For The Winning Bidder & Has Received A Professional Valet.

The Car Itself Is Used Daily Back & Forth From Work & I Have Never Had Any Problems, It Is A Pure Pleasure To Drive. Unlike Most Of These Models The Interior Is In Extremely Good Condition With No Rips To The Leather Interior Or Noticeable Signs Of Wear & Tear To It. The T-Bar Roof Does Not Leek.

PLEASE NOTE! Many MR2's Are Advertised As Anniversary Models But Are Actually Not! This Vehicle Comes With All The Relevent Badging. Anniversary Spec Includes, Limted Edition Momo Steering Wheel, Original Toyota Tape/Cd Player, Graphite Coloured Wheels & Badging Indicating That This Is An Anniversary Model.

Please Ask Any Questions That You May Have & I Will Be Happy To Answer Them, Or If You Would Like To Come & View The Car, Feel Free To Contact Me On 07863122174

There's 2 roof rack versions I see for sale from time to time in Japan, one is for T-Top cars and one is for Hardtops and would work on sunroof cars as well.

I saw another style for sale in Germany a couple weeks ago that was definitely an OEM Toyota rack, but I'm not convinced it was designed for the MR2 as it was listed to be. That's not to say it definitely wasn't, though.

There is no emblem for the trunk, however there is a gunmetal emblem for the front.

As far as a blue 10th Anniversary, nothing in my research has pointed to any other color than the silver with black interior in Japan. So I believe the blue is aftermarket if it is a 10th Anniversary car or UK version.

Cant find anything on the EPC that points out wood grain steering wheels. In actual fact l believe that both cars are really an UK version of an anniversary made up with the spare parts from Toyota,
Why ? it would be easy for Toyota to get 250 cars add the wheels , sill panels and if a buyer wanted the steering wheel " it was a optional extra " put a engine lid badge and make it a special. They do it all around the world.
They are not genuine JDM anniversaries as Toyota released them WHY the bilstein sticker is missing in both cars. That would have cost UK toyota too much with little chance to recover the added cost.
Unless someone can give me the vin of either car to check they are only UK specials .Sure yes limited but not the genuine article

I believe what you're referring to we call "Port Installed" options in Canada. I believe that sometimes Toyota Canada 'spruces up' an otherwise regularly optioned car with a few genuine accessories and stickers and calls it a "Value Added" model. Just something a little different.

Possibly what UK Toyota had done with these cars.

I'd call them a Genuine 10th Anniversary model for the UK, if there was only 250 out there, they're somewhat rare in the scheme of things. The 10th Anniv. badge definitely looks like an Add-On, not something typical of Toyota design, IMO.

yeah, but its still not a 10th Anniversary MR2.

If I purchase and install the 10 anniversary items on a 95 mr2 in the states and painted it silver, it will wouldn't be a 10th anniversary mr2.
