Isn't that cause they are all NAs and really nothing special aside from a couple of small rinky-dink changes?

yeah, i think the blue though is only a uk 10th anniversary edition.

I think the debate is whether it should be considered a true 10th anniversary edition because they were addons by the UK Dealers/import and not by toyota japan.

They are just add ons. Nothing wrong with that. Gee i should search if Australia made there own version ? Dam and Auto MR2 ! looks like they wanted to increase the sales. Who in their right mind would buy a 2 liter auto.
And now shocker upgrade. Smells just like a local upgrade

I highly doubt the add-ons were done by the UK dealer, but rather done by Toyota UK at the port of entry.

What's the big deal? Is it a Japanese 10th Anniversary edition? Nu-uh. A UK one for sure, even part of the brochure

You'll notice even all late model MKIIs in Japan don't necessarily have driver side airbags. The passenger side seems sporadic too.

Quote:
Air bags become mandatory

On July 11, 1984, the U.S. government required cars being produced after April 1, 1989 to have driver's side air bags or automatic seat belts (the automatic seat belt was a technology, now discarded, that "forced" motorists to wear seatbelts). Airbag introduction was stimulated by the U.S. DOT.[11] However, airbags were not mandatory on light trucks until 1995.[citation needed]

In 1998, dual front airbags were mandated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and de-powered, or second-generation air bags were also mandated. This was due to the injuries caused by first-generation air bags that were designed to be powerful enough to restrain people who were not wearing seatbelts.

In the United Kingdom and most other developed countries there is no direct legal requirement for new cars to feature airbags. Instead, the compulsory Euro NCAP vehicle safety rating encourages manufacturers to take a comprehensive approach to occupant safety; a good rating can only be achieved by combining air bags with other safety features.[12] Thus almost all new cars now come with at least two airbags as standard.

I took mine out of the plastic and put it into a display case with my white 94 toy that I got off ebay. Now they both sit in my living room on top of my TV.

Its missing the Bilstein stickers therefore it would be missing the suspension that was on the JDM version.
That would have been an expensive exersice if UK Toyota would have done that

I quite often see Toyota Bilstein struts for sale on Yahoo! Auctions Japan. At first I thought these were parts from the 10th Anniversary cars, but they come up far too often to not have been offered in other models as well.

What was special about the Bilstein suspension in the 10th Anniversary Japanese market car compared to the Bilsteins found in other Japanese models, or do we know if there's any at all? Perhaps a few stickers goes a long way in making you think you have something special?
