I've always wondered... is there some functional point to the gas filler door mod?
BTW - thanks for posting the pics. These are awesome. -- DavidV ![]() |

Actually, the gas tank has been removed from the center console and moved to the frunk. The filler hose that is attached to the gas door has been removed and replaced with a hose that leads under the intercooler for more airflow. Along with that, the center console now hosts 2 vents that are in the front and circulated back to the intercooler area as well.
pretty neat design if you ask me. They are basically trying to achieve as much airflow through that intercooler as possible. I wish i had an anemometer so i could find out how fast the air is moving through those vents at different speeds, to see if its really worth all that work. sounds good in theory to me. |

Update - Didn't make it down to Border Racing over the weekend due to some stuff not arriving in the mail yet. Will keep you updated as to when i can get down there, but with the holidays coming fast, I might have to wait till the beginning of the year. Most shops in Japan Close for a week for holiday vacation.

just read the border article in MR2only and was quite impressed with the fuel tank mod.
if you indeed used the center console to create a venturi tunnel with CF bottom pieces/splitters/diffusors like ferrari does......would be really awesome i think! |
