Question Best Distributer timing?

What is the best timing to set the distributer? The first mark on the harmonic balencer is 0 the second mark is 12 and the third mark is 16. For what ever reason my car idles best at 20deg before top dead center.

Set it to 10 BTDC with pins T1 and E1 (in the check connector) shorted to each other. It will idle faster with more advanced timing, but that does not mean that is the best place to set it.

Make sure those terminals are jumped or you are wasting your time. Jumping them disables the ECU capabilities to advance the timing.

Ehh...not a great idea. I'd recommend setting it to the factory specs, not more advanced, especially with more compression like a smallport has.
