electrical problem- 87 mr2

i bought this car not running, pulled engine,put in a new 1. used the wiring harness off the motor that runs. now i have power to gauges and spark to the coil and to the plugs. but the starter will not turn unless u jump it with a wire. i have switched the ignition. and have checked the clutch starter switch. took it out of the old race car. it was cut off and wirenutted and plugged into the harness. it worked in the old car so i plugged it in to this one....maybe it is a fusable link burnt ..i dont know any help would greatly be appreciated.. 3d

the problem has been solved.....it was the wiring harness that runs along the drivers door back to computer !!! the 1988 toyota mr2 is ready for its 1st race of the year. except paint,gonna race naked. haha.....the 3/8 mile dirt oval at vermilion county speedway will be set on fire this sunday night.......mr2s rule
