4age noise Q

So a freind of mine bought a mk1 recently and doesnt want it anymore, (had alot of plans then got discouraged when he realized how much it would cost him and he is lazy didnt want to do the work) He told me I could buy it for $100 (he only paid $150) if I wanted it....

My question is this the car runs fine have some missing interior and body damage but runs fine. However when it idles after warmup it has a clicking (only noticable around 1k rpm or lower. its not loud but im not sure if this is normal noise for a stock 4age since my engine has upgraded internals and would laugh at me if I tried to make it idle at anything below 1.5 :P

As mentioned the engine runs great and has around 150k according to the speedo.

Maybe tapet noise? Have you checked the cams shims clearance?
