16v problems =(

so i wrote a long story before but this is just for the engine problem since i'm unaware what it could be. so i was booking it on a highway at high revs and the engine stalled after it had time to cool it started and was fine then near my work it died and i parked it came back 6 hrs later and it wouldn't start it would crank and then a thudding noise from the engine any guesses what the problem could be before i open her up?
p.s. my oil was actually over the full line when i checked it ot sure if this is related.

From what I hear the engine will turn off if it overheats... was the oil foamy, you might have blown a head gasket if it got too hot. This might explain why there is “more oil” on the dipstick also. The thudding noise could have been a spun bearing from it overheating or revving too high. How many miles are on this engine? I’d say start by draining the oil and see if its nasty and has coolant in it. If so, there will be at least a head gasket to change. Then check the bottom of the drain pan for a ton of metal shavings if so a bearing more then likely spun.

thanks alot man and the engine just had oil change and when i took a look at the dip stick
it was surprisingly dirty which seemed odd so ill drain the oil and check it out blown head gasket seems to fit the problem and i did not see foamy oil but i did not check it too much.
ill check out all you mentioned thanks man

I'm in the process of replacing my head gasket which was blown on the number four cylinder. There was no coolant in the oil when I drained it. Good luck!
