OK this may sound like the most ghetto thing ever but it worked beautifully on my mk 1.....boat rollers, the rollers on a trailer for launching boats can be all shapes and sizes and I happened across a set that were urethane and the perfect flexability and they pressed right in! The hole in the middle was even the right size. I am surprised how good they are for $5. The only issue I've had is the immense laughter it causes when people find out my mk1 is built out of stuff from the local hardware stores bargain bin.

Sorry Gairloch no pictures
Not the sort of mod that I thought was worth documenting. Was easy hardest part was getting the old rubber out. Then press in bolt up and your done, plus they can be machined down (carefully) to fit so for the smaller mounts just spin on a lathe, will never look at boat rollers the same again |
