Hey im new...
im new to the forum and i just picked up an old beat up mr2. My brother is on the forum- chrisfromnh- and he told me to join. were tryin to get the mr2 community up here in new england... anyone around southern NH??? anyways, im new so what happens on here? my bro said that everyone would get a kick out of the fact that i managed to change the head gasket on one of these little bastards without pulling the motor or even loosening the mounts-especially since i have no experience with these things or even Toyota for that matter.... it only took me a couple afternoons and alot of swearing.... lol

Without loosening the mounts?
Hmm. I did mine with the engine still in (ya, i'll never do it like that again) but i think i did have to loosen that one mount and take it off so i could get the cam gear baffle off. But i guess it doesn't really need to be taken off. Also head gasket changes are a GOOD time to do the timing belt, so another reason why i had to take the one mount off. |

well, even though you can, doesn't mean you should
![]() I absolutely hated working in those tight tight places, the intake manifold was an absolute nightmare, and those coolant lines that run right under it weren't much better either! |
