stop light switch not working

hey guys i need help!! the stop light switch is not working. i checked all the fuses and they are not blown. also, i checked it with a test light and i'm getting power from the wires but not on the stop light switch plug (wires). does it mean that i need to replace the switch or there's something else going on. please help!!

Check the function of the switch. Unplug it. Use a multimeter and test the resistance between the terminals. When the switch is activated, the resistance should be very low, less than an ohm.

well i checked the switch plug with a test light and im not getting power from the switch plug but i'm getting power from the fuse box all the way back to the brake lights. what should i do?

Try putting in a new brake light fuse under the dash.

Check that you're getting power to the fuse.

Using a multimeter, run a continuity test from the power out side of the brake light fuse to the connector on the brake light switch.
