oil leak

I have always had a few drops of oil laying where every I parked, bit could never find the source of the leak. Now it has become a more noticable problem. Could it be the seal? Oil pressure is fine.

you shoulda put this in the MK1 section lawls. its cool tho, i too have this problem. there is a hose that comes from the oil pan. i noticed the previous owner used some duct tape and random crap on it so it must be leakin from there.

you have to feel around in the engine bay lift the timing cover and check in there....check under the distributer....feel the whole way around the oil pan throughly check the oil cooler lines. something should be wet

have you resealed it yourself? I had a huge problem when I was trying to put the oil pan back on because it had leaked already so everything was covered in oil...the surfaces must be PRISTINE clean or rtv will not seal right...be generous with the rtv too...dont skimp out or it will still leak

i HOPE to not have to touch the oil pan on my silvertop but ya never know

I oringally thought it was a slight leak around the sending unit as it showed oil in the engine bay when I bought it. Now it is al over the timing belt, which makes me think it's the front seal. I replaced the head gasket earlier this year I should have done the oil pump then.

Distributor shaft seal possibly. Both of my 2's had this problem. Looked to be coming from oil cooler lines or from timing cover area, but was not. Pop your dizzy cap off and see if there is oil inside.
