Thats way, way, way higher than anything Ive seen. We haven't really seen a 5sfte's potential in a long time but everybody out there with dyno proof is still around 180-190ft.lbs. and 170-180hp.

There have been a few high HP 5sfte's over the years although I haven't seen any lately. I am building one eventually but for now I am enjoying my engine NA. One of the guys at Burien Toyota has one that makes 300+ and Mike Colon used to have one that produced 515rwhp and ran 10.9 ETs. Any 5sfte shooting for 250rwhp+ is going to need larger cams, EMS and upgraded fuel components.

Andrew is right that is a little high for the average setup. An average 5sfte will produce from 160-180rwhp depending on the boost. Those setups use 315cc injectors, 3sgte MAP, ct-26 and can safely run up to 9-10psi depending on altitude and other variables. Manny was able to get 235rwhp and 267rwtq using 460cc injectors, 3sgte MAP, ct-27 and SAFC with dyno tuning and running a little higher boost. The amount of power that a 5sfe can handle is more based on the fuel and spark control then the internals although the stock cams lower the amount of boost you can run.

Forged rods are only nessesary if you want to rev past 6300rpms or run an extreme amount of boost. Forged pistons, although they are a nice safety net, will not save you if you go too lean for long so they do not by themselves allow you to run more boost. If you really want to run 20psi you are going to need 244 or longer duration cams, Full stand alone EMS, 540cc or larger injectors (depending on the turbo and other mods), fuel pump, clutch and of course a turbo that can hold that much boost on a 2.2 liter. You may also find the throttle body and intake manifold will become restrictions at those power levels and you should definitely get a better intercooler then the stock turbo one.
