That Switch Is For Motorized Fog Lights. To Get Them To Work Right, You Need That Switch, The Motorized Fog Light Relay, And Motorized Fog Lights Themselves.

Thanks, What do motorized fogs do? Follow the car as it turns? How can I tell if that is what is installed on the car, what do I look for? The fogs look like they are very solidly mounted and would not move.
Another question re the headlight switch, has the following Off, ., -, lamp symbol. The first position with the '.' does not seem to do anything, the '-' turns on the park lights, and the last postion turns on the lights. Any idea what th purpoase of the '.' position is? |

It Just Moves The Fog Lights Up And Down. I'm Not Sure If They Turn Though.
I Would Just Take A Look At The Back Of The Fog Lights Themselves And See If It Has More Than 2 Wires Coming Out Of Them. I Would Think That If It has More Than 2 Wires, They Are Motorized. I Haven't Seen Motorized Fog Lights So I Wouldn't Know If They Look Any Different. |

Hard to see if there are multiple wires as I will have to remove the plastic cover underneath the car below the fogs, so will do that another day as it's raining our right now..here are some pics of the fogs and the headlight switch..

Very Cool, I have motorized fogs, had someone stand in front of the car and watch the fogs, and with the fog switch in the upper position the fogs move left or right as I turn the steering wheel.

Not sure, but I think so. There are also a few other things that are different as well. I have electric folding side mirrors, with heaters, automatic climate control, power windows in the hardtop as well as the motorized fogs.
Anyone answer the question re the headlight switch? |

If you have the folding mirrors there should be a small button on the door right near the power window buttons that you push and the mirrors will fold. Car has to be on for that to work. Mine is a GLimited as well

the three headlight switches allow you to pop up the headlights (by moving to the dash) then turn the lights off while still being popped up (by moving it back to the dot) Useless but cool none-the-less.
Its wierd signaling with your right hand, eh? When I first got my JDM i kept turning the wipers on every time i wanted to make a turn. |

Not sure the mirrors are heated. I have a JDM Toyota Soarer Twin Turbo(Lexus SC300)and there is a separate switch for the mirror heaters.
I have two British RH drive cars and the turn signals are on the same side as the Canadian car. I have a Toyota Soarer and the MR2 both JDM and the turn signal is on the opposite side, so that makes it even more confusing moving from RH car to RH car and then to my wifes LH car..have to admit I turn the wipers on a lot more than I need to, and that goes for all the different cars I end up driving! |

Not sure maybe just the switch and wiring is on your car, and you just need to add the fogs and the relay. Which lights come on as DRLs in the Canadian MR2s?

The foglamps are always on in Canadian MKIIs when the parking lamps are off.
