another mr2 steering rack starting to go

when i turn the wheels standing still or when moving slowly the steering rack makes a cracking noise does anyone know what gets worn out for it to do that or has anyone experienced this and the steering gave out ive been looking for steering racks alot of places a new one from toyota goes for about 600 and to have it sent out and rebuilt is 300 i also tried jorgen automotive they also could only rebuild mine and by the way mine is a powersteering rack and if anyone is looking to sell one let me know thanks

How do you know that it's the steering rack?

I had a similar thing happening with my car when I first bought it and it turned out to be a broken bushing in my driver side strut mount.

yeah, could be something else. maybe suspension? i had a similar problem with a cracking noise and found out it was a nut on my front endlinks.

because the noise was coming directly from inside the rack and i found one online and changed
