"throttle cable, w/o turbo, w/o inter wipers"
"throttle cable, w/o turbo, w/inter wipers" Those are the two descriptions for a new throttle cable. WTF are inter wipers??? This is from Toyota btw, so it's a legit option. |

Intermittent wipers are an option to allow for the speed adjustment of the wiper blades on the intermittent setting. Long story short, if there is a dial on your wiper switch (it says INT TIME), you have intermittent wipers. I'll have pics in a sec.....
I don't know why this option affects a throttle cable....... but apparently it does Last edited by Ben; 04-30-2007 at 10:42 PM. |

You'll get oddball questions like that every now and then. On some cars, if you want to look up an brake light assembly, it will ask if the car has a sunroof.

Now that I think about it I have a guess. Doesn't it change your wiper speed depending on the tps and speed sensor? The faster you go the faster they move. Think about it, it makes sense.

It's by options on the car, like if you have int. wipers than you may or may not have cruise, wich also affect the linkage on some throttle cable systems ,cause it's part of the combo switch.

the int wipers DO change a few parts that are seemingly not relevent to wipers.. weird, but it helps you get the right parts.

Thanks. I'm doing a hit and miss with my throttle problem. The pedal feels kinda sticky and rough. like there's a weird bend in the cable. For a while my friend had me thinking it was drive by wire. So I'm just replacing everything. Even if a $2 washer fixes the problem, at least I know I have all new parts.
Thanks for the info. |

sticky and rough?
adjust your throttle stop first man.. if that hands up, it makes the pedal "stick" closed.. |

I would say 'sticky and rough' is definitely a frayed throttle cable 99% of the time. Those don't seem to last a long time and it can be pretty dangerous when they start sticking.

In fact, y'all need to be careful, because on some Toyotas, the throttle cable is from the pedal to wherever it ends - either the throttle body or the cruise control actuator. If you have a setup wherein the throttle cable runs to the cruise control servo, and then a second cable transfers that motion from the cruise servo the engine, you need to be sure you know what you're getting before you shell out the money. |
