first before you take 1/2 the motor apart i would just look to see if the cable detached itself from behind the spedo, thats what it was for me

It could be as simple as replacing the second speedo cable. Mine was broken pretty bad. You can get them from rock auto for like 20 bucks. Maybe less, I forget.

Ok, in the instructions, it says the keys are like 50 cent parts. I checked with dealership, and they said each key is like $15. Anybody know where to get it cheaper from. 15 bucks isn't too much but for a small peice of metal, that seems like a lot. So I'm looking at like almost 40ish for two small metal tabs
. Now that's a lot for like 3 oz of metal. |

This needs to be a sticky. The part number for the rear speedo cable found on www.rockauto.com is
Y849 It's like 10 dollars. I have bought it. It works! DIRECT FIT. This is the the REAR SPEEDOMETER CABLE. Last edited by shimric; 05-31-2007 at 03:50 PM. |

is there any another test you can do to see if its the rear cable. mine just went out today and im gonna check in the morning. i know you can spin the cable to see if its the front cable, and from what ive found you can do a cruise control test for the rear...but i have an aftermarket steering wheel so i dont have the cruise control anymore.
so is there another test to determine if its the rear cable or the assembly? |
