Keep an eye out, we are going to have a small introductory group buy on intakes in about a month. They will be simple intakes that are meant to work properly and fit. Also, if you need replacement filters for your own intake or for one you buy from us we have those as well.

sweet ****, any kind of price yet? and where will the piping leave the filter sitting. (down by the vent where the air box was?) cuz i've been hearin about all these one where it leave the filter sittin by the exhaust mani, and that just sounds like the stupidest thing ever to me.

If you can find aFe, get one.. they have some sweet filters. I think they make some of the filters for TRD. Do a google for: "afe universal filter" I have a dry-flow on my FJ with one of their pre-filters. It's awesome. Just vacuum it dry or spray some air on it. Plus you can wash them in dish soap if needed. No oil required! Last edited by runabout93; 08-02-2007 at 11:54 AM. |

something like that....... It's actually the Spectre Performance one from AutoZone. Its the intake, intake filter, plus a 45deg. piece and a 55 deg. peice. It works better with two 45 deg pieces though, then it would be directly in the side vent, the only bad thing is that the sensor does not fit in the tiny lil hole. For the money..... i would definatlet recomend it. i got mines for free. Autozone has a promotion where if u spend $20 u get a credit towards a free gift card, after 5 credits that is. i carefully bought stuff in $20 dollar increments got my credits and WALLA freeintake. i just had to buy the small pieces. but i must say that it sounds AMAZING!!! be sure to get the one with the opening in the center.
Good Luck |

ok so just to actually go back to the topic of this thread: i just got my Weapon R Secret today and it was like the same thing you got, but i really don't know what you're complaining about...I just did a bit of cutting here and there of the piping and I made it work wonderfully!!! My setup sits no where near the exhaust manifold, and I used a bit of that accordian tubing, cut it, and set up a link between the outlet of that stock intake box coming from the outside and to the front of the intake itself...It looks great, sounds great, I didn't have to use any of their gay mounts, and it doesnt even touch that coolant line...i agree with you that they send too much though, half of that **** you don't even use... I will post up a couple pics of my setup if you're interested

I definitely want to see your pics! More pics the better... at least it will give other people some ideas to make it work. I also dont understand how you could make it work without the "gay" mounts. |

oh yeah I see what you mean and I agree...I guess personally I don't mind a whole lotta cutting especially when it turns out the way I wanted it..but yeah 180 bucks is a bit much...Although I was surprised at the extra boost it gave me! I have put a couple CAI systems on other cars and none of them sounded quite as nice or gave the small boost of power that I got from this system! Seriously it sounds like a turbocharger spooling right behind your head which is a nice sound for us people stuck with the 5S for now
. Anyway this is what I came up with for the final product:sorry for the blurriness of the pictures... the car was up on ramps so i wasn't able to hold the camera well.. the second picture shows the piece of accordian tubing they sent to connect it to that part of the air box |

lol do you like my somewhat ghetto set up? I wanted to do it your way C3LZ0 and remove that piece covering the vent but then wouldn't the intake and the engine for that matter get totally boned if a buncha water splashed in there and got all over the filter? Idk maybe it's just me..
