fuel pump wires....

hey guys, I've got a hum-dinger for ya....

Just recently my car has started randomly dying while driving. It is fine idling, but when I'm cruising, it will make a sound like i just stepped off the gas, and I have no power. It won't manually roll-start,so originally I thought I had an ignition problem like I was just loosing spark for some reason. However, I can turn the key all the way off, push the clutch in, and re-crank it and it will start like normal and I'm good to go till the next unexpected die.

I was trying to find the fuel pump hotwire when the car was running and got the **** shocked out of me. I can't figure out where it came from, but it was by the rear fuse panel.

Can anyone tell me where the fuel pump wires are/go/ explain its whole circuit/provide me with some factory diagrams. I can't find them in my manual at all....could it possibly be arc-ing and resetting itself when i turn the key off?

The plug-ins for the fuel pump are just infront of the shifter. Go to the "how to" section on here and go to change my fuel pump. It'll show you a pic.

yeah I knew about the plugs, but where do those wires go?....I would rather just take someone's word for it than tear everything apart and trace the ground and hot wires.

but thanx for the effort!

theres a black box in the engine bay that says DIAGNOSTICS, inside theres a pin "Fp" and "B+"

fp is the fuel pump, and b+ is battery positive.. run a wire from b+ to fp and your pump will start running.

it very much sounds like you have a dead fuel pump.

its on the rear firewall, on the right side. its about 2x1 inches and black, literally says "DIAGNOSTIC" right on top. you pop the cover off and its got the diagnostic test ports right there to jump. i dont have a picture, but you should be able to find it fairly easy.
