the KO is probably the highest quality, nicest looking exhaust for the na.. but it sure isnt the best performing.

From what I've heard... the exhaust is useless without the header and b-pipe changed. That's where all of the ristriction comes from.
There's some mixed emotions about this header... but, a lot of happy campers. FS: NA headers NATKO exhaust is on my wish list... But, I'm waiting until I can get (afford) the entire system. |

yea i was thinkin about those Pro-1 headers, but i wanted to hear what people had to say about those VS. the Hot Shot headers. and if the NAKTO isn't the best performing what is? i just want my car to have a TINY bit more balls but still have that pretty little dual tips.

If you want to keep it stock looking ("with pretty little dual tips")... I would go custom with the Borla or Magnaflow and have the tips welded back on... because the NATKO isn't really little and pretty. It's kinda grossly oversized and badass looking.
Their is a Megan Racing exhaust that is dual... but it goes out and to the side... they are calling it drift style (i think??). I call it butt style. But, the design looks like it would flow really well. And Megan Racing stuff is made well. There is alos an SSAutochrome NATKO wannabe exhaust. But, I think everybody hates that company for their pure lack of quality and sevice. Other than that there are Turbo exhausts in all shapes and flavors that can be fabbed up to the 5sfe... I think I heard somewhere of an adapter piece already made and being sold. Anyone? |

will this work as a custom replacement for it? and as in "little and pretty" i was just sayin i want to still have the dual tips, i just don't want them to be MASSIVE. but do you think everything would still work the same with some headers, B-pipe, and that Borla muffler with the stock tips welded on it. i meen sure the tips aren't 4" big, but do you think it's at least still sreve KINDA the same perpouse?

I knew what you meant... I was just bustin' ur balls. LOL I like the dual tips too. Its one of the cool things about the MR2.
I dont think that Borla would work... because it has a single in and the 2 outlets are on the same side. You need one that goes in on one side and out on both sides. Not a lot of universals do that. That's about the extent of my limited knowledge. I had a bookmark to this page that shows a lot of different exhausts that are or were available: Mad PSI - Performance - Exhaust - MR2 (SW20) Most of this is out of date and there are a lot of them that are discontinued. But, this is how I decided the TKO is probably the best bet for the money. If I could pic any exhaust on that page... I'ld get the GReddy SP... where did that go! Damn that is sexy! |

if you do decide to go with a single outlet, my experience with my last car had 2 1/2 from the cat back to a magnaflow with a 3 outlet, it wasnt "ricey" and worked just fine and had a deep tone, nothing but good things from it

there is not a chance in the world i'd go with a single outlet on my MR2. the dual tips just accent the car SO much more.

i was wondering, IF i did go with the NATKO exhaust, does anyone know if i have to remove that little grille lookin thing thats right behind the muffler? That grille with the dual tips just looks so bad ass to me.

Im having a hard time deciding between the ko and the megan systems. Maybe you guys can help. I like the straight tips on the ko, but i hate seeing those big mufflers hanging down below the car. It looks like you would smash them up if you went over a speed bump. Could some ko owners tell me if they really hang that low, maybe some pics would help too. I would go with the megan since it has the mufflers in different places but im not so sure about the "drift spec" angled tips. Let me know your opinions.

To be honest guys, I would suggest building a custom exhaust rather than spending so much money on those setups. But that's just me. I personally am waiting for a GReddy SP exhaust to pop up somewhere....since they're discontinued...
