need help on swaping both the shift cables!!

i broke my shifter cable after shifting it into 3rd a little bit to hard and i just bought some new shifter cables from toyota (both) and i wantted to know whether its hard to swap them out with the new ones... is there anything i should know before changing them? DO's and DONT'S? THANKS!!

remove the heatshield in the engine bay, its really straitforward it took me about 10 mins to just remove old cables. just put it back the way you took it out

since its stuck on third gear would that effect the cable change? would i have to put the stick in the 3rd gear postition while changing the new cables?

You shouldn't have to, and I doubt the shifter would stay there anyways...

Mine was stuck in 4th gear, when the cable broke.

It must have pulled the shifter into gear when the new cable was hooked to the tranny.

Just remember which one goes on which side, or else you will do the job twice.
