Assuming the OP gets the cut and weld done by a pro, and that the "pro" measures everything up to make sure it's within the original tolerances then the rest should be a matter of unbolting parts from one car and attaching them to the other.
Thats what I get for not reading the whole post... lol... I did not read the part where the donor rolled... If that is the case offer the guy 500.00 and use the other 500.00 to pay a guy to do the welding... Then do the part out to get your money back...

From what I've seen on the board, there are scavangers out that are always looking for something. $10 here, $50 there, before you know it, you've got your investment back.

I say go get it fully insured... wait a few weeks. Put it all back together, hop in it, buckle up for safety, and run it straight into a tree at 30mph. Make a claim... they'll consider it totalled, and you made money. LOL j/k... that's illegal.

Seriously though, you really have to get some estimates and talk to the shop about your options. Tell them your story. Including the donor option you might have. Any respectable body shop will give it to you straight. I wouldn't give up on it until I added up the total cost. If they do quote you something... make sure they stick to that price.

No matter what... keep that car for your own parts car. It's getting harder and harder to find parts car for that much. Sh!t.... I don't know if it runs and drives okay... But, if it does just leave it be until you save up for something better.
